The Light We Leave On

Mara arrives on the coast with a restoration contract and a carefully rehearsed plan to leave before winter. The lighthouse she has come to save has other ideas, as does Theo, the boatbuilder who knows every difficult inch of the headland. Working through storm damage, misplaced blueprints, and the village’s conflicting hopes, they discover that starting again can be a shared undertaking. When Mara receives the opportunity she once wanted more than anything, both must decide what they can offer each other without giving up the lives they want to build.
